Make Reservations In Mecklenburg County This Mother's Day!

by Mayes Harris Team

Mother's Day approaches and I thought I would focus this week's blog on special local places to take your mothers or the mothers to your children. Let's get started. Please note, these are non-chain restaurants and that's what I thought I would feature.

North Harbor Club located 100 N Harbor Pl, Davidson, NC 28036. Call (704) 896-5559 to make reservations and I would reserve as soon as you can. This is a popular hot spot with the locals and the surrounding residents. They will be serving brunch on Mother's Day along with a few of their signature dishes and classic favorites.

Dressler's Restaurant located at 8630 Lindholm Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078. Call (704) 987-1779 to make reservations and again, reserve as soon as you are able. This is yet another popular spot. It is known as an upscale steak & New American fare which is served in a refined storefront setting with a sidewalk patio.

131 Main has 3 different locations, but the one I'm specifically featuring is located at 17830 N. Statesville Road, Cornelius, NC 28031. This is their original location. Click here for RESERVATIONS. Here's a description taken from their website, "distinctive low country Charleston feel is obvious when you first step through the front door. The gas lamps, plank siding, outdoor dining veranda, fire pit and a full view of the open kitchen and hickory wood fire grill are warm and inviting."

Let's start with these 3 restaurants and build. What's your favorite local place to take Mom on Mother's Day? I would love to add to this list.

Calling All Beer Lovers! Did You Hear D9 Brewing's Exciting News?

by Mayes Harris Team

D9 Brewing is a local Lake Norman area business which opened in 2014. It was started by 2 engineers and 1 doctor with a mission to inspire and support the community through the creation of exciting and original crafted ales. They've been awarded multiple prestigious medals in the sour and mixed-wild categories at the Great American Beer Festival in 2016-2018. Read more by visiting their website -

Okay. Let's get to the reason for this blog and that is they have announced they will be opening a second location in Charlotte and bigger news than that is it will be built around a 5,000 square foot concert pavilion and beer garden!! Doesn't that sound great!

Had to share the local news with my followers! Have a wonderful day!

Learn More About The The Giving Games And Solace For The Children

by Mayes Harris Team

Recently, I shared that I had won a battle against cancer. Even though real estate is my passion, I've also turned my attention towards paying it forward even more. I've always given back through the Miracle Network and the annual school breakfasts that I host for the local schools, but now, even more, I'm concentrating on doing my part in easing others' burdens or as much as I am capable of.

With that said, I want to introduce you to an organization known as Solace for the Children. It's an amazing organization centered on helping children in war-torn countries. As you can see, I have a very soft spot for children. My children have my heart and I look at all children as being part of my family.

The Giving Games is a fundraiser for this organization and it will be FUN!! If you cannot participate then you might wish to contribute. Click here to do so -

Or maybe you do wish to join in the fun. I hope to see you there. Follow the event on Facebook - The Giving Games and like the Facebook page for this organization - Solace for Children

Thank you so much for following my blog and staying connected with me.

Big weekend for Mecklenburg County!!

by Mayes Harris Team

If you are local then you have probably heard and anticipated the two festivals scheduled for this weekend! Mecklenburg County loves the arts and these two festivals definitely reflect that.

First, there's the Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival hosted by the Cornelius Arts Center. There will be 100 local artisans, live music, food trucks, kid's activities and more! This is held on Saturday, September 22nd from 2 to 8 pm in the heart of Cornelius. For a map and further info click here -

Next, there's the Davidson Fall Art Festival hosted by the Town of Davidson. This festival is also on Saturday, September 22nd from 5 to 9 pm. Stroll the historic streets of Downtown Davidson and find over 40 of the areas best makers! There will be a wide variety of handmade gifts including pottery, jewelry, photography, fine art, metalwork, textiles and more. Crawlers will also be treated to live music on the Davidson Green by Billy Jones. For more info click here -

So enjoy my friends!! Will hopefully see you there!

Concord Art Walk - Fridays

by Mayes Harris Team

If you are an art lover then you'll want to take time to attend the Concord Art Walk which is hosted by the Cabarrus Arts Council.  Bring the family, friends or a date and take a stroll through The Galleries. Be sure to enjoy the artwork all throughout beautiful downtown Concord. These Art Walks always take place on Fridays from 6:00-9:00 pm.

It really is a wonderful thing to have this available to our community. It is a FREE event, which is always nice and features live music, refreshments, artist demonstrations and much more!

There are nearly two dozen artists who will fill the lawn of the Cabarrus Arts Council, 54 Union Street South, Concord, to show and sell their works. Inside The Galleries, meet and talk with the artists featured in our new exhibition, A wonderful way to spend an evening!

Davidson Farmer's Market

by Mayes Harris Team

Meet me at the market is the line on their website. What a great way to spend a few hours on Saturday with friends and/or family. This Farmer's Market is when the community really comes together and this is what I love about this community. Davidson really is like a picture out of a Norman Rockwell painting.

So here are some facts so you can plan your next trip to the Davidson Farmer's Market.

1. The hours for the market are 8 am to 12 pm with 8:30 am to 10:30 am being the busiest. If you are looking for something that may be in a limited supply then you will want to get there early. If you are going to experience the community experience then plan on arriving after 10:30 am.

2. The market is totally outdoors and so dress appropriately according to the weather.

3. There is public parking which is available on Main Street, Town Hall Lot, Police Department Lot, and at Davidson Presbyterian Church lot at the corner of Depot & Jackson Streets.

So plan on coming out and enjoy yourself!! Further information can be found here -
