National Bike Month was created in 1956 to celebrate the many benefits of bicycling.  Whether you bike to school, work or shopping, it is a great way to get some exercise and see the familiar surroundings in a more intimate and up close way.  So grab your kids, your spouse or your friends and go for a bike ride.

Check out the Catawba Cycling Trails.  You'll find all various trail lengths from 2.5 miles to 38.44!! So there's something for everyone.

If you took your bike out of the garage and found it in need of some TLC, don't worry just visit The Cycle Path.  They'll take great care of your bike.  You can also rent bikes if needed.

Other areas you might want to bike at are -

Fishers Farm Park - Located in the Town of Davidson.  You'll discover four miles of mountain bike trails with beginner to advanced challenges.

Jetton Park On Lake Norman - Located in Cornelius.  Very leisurely bike trail consisting of 1.3 miles.

Lake Norman State Park - The "Inland Sea," which offers more than just water activities.  There are several hiking and bike trails to explore at Lake Norman State Park.

Latta Plantation Nature Center & Preserve - Located in Huntersville.  Several amenities to take advantage of and visitors are encouraged to utilize bikes for traveling between the activities.
