Lake Norman is a great place to call home because of its beautiful neighborhoods, historic background, different types of watersports, NASCAR, and plenty of upscale shopping choices.  Let's take a look at a few of the Lake Norman neighborhoods.

Davidson is a small college town located 20 minutes north of Charlotte. One of the charming attributes of Davidson is it was designed for walking and/or biking.  It was not designed for car travel. The community believes in connectivity.  According to Davidson General Plan and Davidson Land Plan, people can access 100% of Lake Shoreline for public recreational purposes. Boats are commonly used for traveling from Davidson to Lake Norman. The Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County contains numerous books on history, literature, military and others. With very low poverty and unemployment rates, Davidson is known for its calm and quiet environment and modern facilities.

Cornelius was established in 1904 and is located south of Davidson and north of Huntersville.   There are homes in all price ranges with beautiful gardens and walking trails.  There are many activities to do in Cornelius such as a balloon tour over Charlotte, Cornelius Art Center, mini golf or a relaxing boat tour.

Huntersville was established in 1873 and as one might assume there are plenty of historical attractions to visit.  It has also become quite an attraction for just about everyone with NASCAR, shopping, and parks. Also, the Carolina Renaissance Festival is organized here every October and November.

Boasting its importance for being designated as the corporate headquarter of NASCAR Technical Institute and Lowe’s Companies, Mooresville is known for being home to one of many of the best NASCAR car racing teams and drivers. As a sister city of Hockenheim in Germany, Mooresville is also branded as USA’s Race City. With the Historical Automotive Museum, The Memory Lane Motorsports, North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame, and The Mooresville Convention and Visitors Bureau make it a perfect combination spot for sports lovers.
