City of Concord
With the city name meaning “harmony,” you can’t go wrong living in the City of Concord. It offers a beautiful collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth century historic districts along the streets of Union and Edgewood, many gorgeous residential communities, good schools, a bustling shopping district and is just minutes away from Lowes Motor Speedway.
The City of Concord is served by the Cabarrus County Schools system, ranking 7 out of 10 in system wide test scores. The district focuses on providing the best education possible for its students and holds the schools accountable for all achievements and in any categories where there is improvement needed. For post-secondary education, residents may choose from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Cabarrus College of Health Sciences and only a few miles to the south, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The city provides a fantastic downtown, with merchants offering antiques, fine collectibles, arts and crafts, and almost any other merchandise a shopper might desire. It is also home to the Carolina Mall and Concord Mills Mall, which is the largest mall in North Carolina.
