Huntersville NC Real Estate
Named for land-owner Robert Boston Hunter, Huntersville's history dates back to the early 1800's. The pastoral farm land and early railroad led to the growth of this town. Later, Virgin Manufacturing Company, a cotton mill, became the first major employer. Today, Huntersville is the host to a variety of major employers including companies like Atlanta-based RubberMaid Newell, Presbyterian Hospital, and Joe Gibbs Racing.
Huntersville boasts many pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods including Birkdale, noted for it's fabulous shopping, restaurants and movie theater, pedestrian-friendly connections and trails, and golf village. Huntersville is the location of the North County Regional Library, the Discovery Place Kids Museum, Historic Latta Plantation, the Carolina Raptor Center, the Carolina Renaissance Festival in the fall, Rural Hill Farm, and Duke Energy's Explorium right on Lake Norman -- Huntersville has something for everyone seeking a home in the Charlotte metro area.
