Myers Park

Myers Park

Myers Park is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the Charlotte metropolitan area, built originally on the John Spring Myers farm, and is now full of winding streets and boulevards, lush greenery, and stately, traditional homes.  It is perfectly situated close to the center of the city, adjacent to Dilworth, Elizabeth and South Park, known for their unique shopping and restaurants.  As a planned suburb begun in 1905, Myers Park retains so much of its original charm from over 100 years ago, showcasing its beautiful tree-lined streets and homes, making it a wonderful place for scenic strolls for residents and visitors alike.  The homes are classy and grand, and there is an air of tradition and exclusivity in this area.

Myers Park has a very active homeowner’s association (www.mpha.org),that keeps up-to-date on planning, zoning and social issues.  Children from Myers Park will attend the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public schools (www.cms.k12.nc.us): Myers Park, Dilworth, Selwyn and Eastover for elementary, Alexander Graham Middle School and the prestigious Myers Park High School.  Myers Park is home to the Manor Theatre, one of Charlotte’s oldest movie theaters, specializing in independent films, Theatre Charlotte, Charlotte’s oldest arts organization and the state’s longest running community theater, Queens University (www.queensuniversity.com) and the Duke Mansion, a historic inn and meeting place, where residents gather for many social events.  Many residents belong to the Myers Park Country Club. http://www.myersparkcc.com/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp
