Davidson, N.C. is located 20 minutes north of Uptown Charlotte, bound by beautiful Lake Norman to the west, Mooresville to the north, and Cornelius to the south.  Davidson, a charming small town, offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of urban living, in a vibrant community setting. Davidson is home to the historic Davidson College,founded in 1837 by the Presbyterians, is one of the country's most prestigous four-year liberal arts colleges.  Walking around the historic campus, you quickly notice how the beautiful old trees and buildings rising in brick splendor merges both college and village into one.  The Davidson Wildcats men's basketball team has quite a following, especially since they made it all the way to the NCAA's Elite Eight in March, 2008.

Davidson hosts many festivals and cultural events during the year, bringing residents and visitors together.  From April is for Arts to summertime Concerts on the Green to "Christmas in Davidson," to kick off the holiday season, the town offers its residents plenty to do.  Though a small town, Davidson's cultural offerings impress with the Davidson College lecture and performance series, theater by the Davidson Commuinty Players, and independent and first-run movies being shown at Our Town Cinemas. Davidson has its own branch of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, located right at the center of town on the village green, creating a major focal point for community activities. The very popular Davidson Farmers Market is held weekly during the spring, summer and fall and bi-weekly in the winter months, and is located right next to Town Hall.  Children in Davidson attend Davidson Elementary, Bailey Middle and W.A. Hough High schools, and a variety of other public, charter and private school options in Davidson or close-by. Davidson has three major shopping and dining areas -- historic Main Street, South Main Square, and the shops at Exit 30, boasting many boutiques and restaurants to please any palate.  Davidson's magnificent woodlands and greenery, with strict conservation rules for maintaining open natural spaces and parks, makes this a wonderful place to walk, bike, run, play and live.
