Lake Davidson

Lake Davidson

This residential area consists of lots of small, well-located neighborhoods right on the shores of Lake Davidson in Davidson, NC.  This lake straddles Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties and is separated from Lake Norman by I-77, and is in the Catawba-Wateree watershed.  Pick any one of these neighborhoods for easy access to community boat docks and the lake:

Spinnaker Cove

The Woods at Lake Davidson

Davidson Pointe

Spinnaker Reach

Davidson Bay

Estates at Lake Davidson

In the center of the lake are several small islands, all designated wildlife sanctuaries, perfect for visits on canoes or kayaks.   In 2010, a new trail was completed by volunteers with assistance from the town of Davidson and Davidson College that leads from Jetton Street, down behind Davidson Day School to the new canoe/kayak launch site.  There’s a nature preserve on an 8-acre peninsula that has lovely views across the lake.

The neighborhoods in the Lake Davidson area are within an easy walk or bike ride to town, and right at the circles at exit 30, making access to shopping and I-77 a breeze.  This is a great area for singles, families, retirees and lake-lovers.  You can get single-family attached garage homes, older homes with mature landscaping and new construction – some of the neighborhoods (Davidson Pointe) have a Davidson address, but are in Iredell county, which is appealing to many for tax purposes.
